IP River supported the migration from legacy connectivity and delivered the access layer for SD-WAN across multiple Dobbies sites — using diverse access technologies and carriers across the estate. The retail environment didn't pause for the cut-over.

What is IP River?

IP River is a UK wholesale ISP and network operator, and a global internet platform. It aggregates 33+ UK carriers, altnets and fibre networks plus 100+ global carriers across 50+ countries, delivering multisite connectivity behind the partners who sell it. It has operated since 2008 on its own BGP network (AS62163) and is a LINX member.

Does IP River sell directly to end customers?

No. IP River is channel-first and never competes with its partners. MSPs and resellers deliver under their own brand; brokers make the sale and keep the relationship while IP River delivers and services the connectivity.

Who does IP River work with?

Managed service providers (MSPs), connectivity brokers and dealers, and resellers and white-label VISPs.

What is the difference between the MSP and broker models?

MSPs, resellers and VISPs white-label IP River and handle all customer communications and billing themselves. Brokers and dealers make the sale and keep the relationship and margin, while IP River delivers, services and bills the customer directly — and never goes around the broker.

What can IP River deliver?

Multi-carrier UK and international access: broadband (FTTP, FTTC, SoGEA), Ethernet, Dedicated Internet Access and leased lines, dark fibre, LEO satellite (Starlink) and 4G/5G mobile, plus Private WAN, CloudConnect and DDoS/DNS protection — quoted, ordered and managed in one portal under one contract.

Is IP River a LINX member, and what is AS62163?

Yes. IP River runs its own BGP network under AS62163 and has been a London Internet Exchange (LINX) member since 2008.

Can partners integrate with IP River programmatically?

The platform is API-first by design: partners can quote, order and manage programmatically with scoped per-tenant keys and supplier-event webhooks. Deeper programmatic self-service is part of the platform rebuild.
